SUMMARY:Parviz + Helmar - Persian indie-funk
LOCATION:Mezrab\, Veemkade 576\, 1019 BL Amsterdam
GEO:52.376022;4.927828
DESCRIPTION:Parviz ★ Persian indie-funk + support Helmar Salón Sonoro 5.
 11.2026 @ Mezrab ★ Parviz Parviz's self-titled debut album is slated for
  2026\, evoking the spirit of Iran's pre-revolutionary '70s music scene. L
ead single “Azadeh”\, a female given name meaning free spirit & indepe
ndence\, nods to the “Woman Life Freedom” movement and the recent mass
uprisings in Iran\, with the artwork by Rana Fadavi emphasising their urg
ency. Its follow-up "Sappho's Fragments" has aired on BBC Radio 6 and tota
lled more than half a million streams since its release. Flowery\, kaleido
scopic and contemplative\, it’s like an old taping of Iran's beloved mus
ic show Rangarang brought back to life\, with added DIY aesthetics and a c
ertain indie flair. Fierce psychedelic guitars and flowing detuned synths
infuse each track with emotion and nostalgia\, resulting in a debut that's
both rooted in Persian culture and distinctly modern. After a successful
UK tour earlier this year that included 5 sold-out shows\, Parviz will be
back for the second leg of his Khorshid Khanoom Tour. https://www.instagra
