DESCRIPTION:Omasta treads new paths without abandoning the old. Rooted in j
 azz but steeped in the rhythms of hip-hop and street culture\, their sound
  is a bold fusion of tradition and innovation. The band's name comes from 
 a regional Krakow dialect word meaning "fat added to food for flavor" - an
  apt metaphor: their music is rich and saturated\, driven by thick drums a
 nd deep\, heavy bass\, layered beneath the melodic interplay of piano\, tr
 umpet\, saxophone\, and flute. Formed in Krakow over several years\, Omast
 a officially launched with a tribute to J Dilla in February 2024 at the ci
 ty's iconic Paul's Boutique. Since then\, they have been making waves acro
 ss Poland and Europe\, performing at the London Jazz Festival and venues s
 uch as Ronnie Scott's and The Jazz Cafe\, and collaborating with genre-sha
 ping artists such as Madlib\, Aquiles Navarro\, Marysia Osu\, Tenderloniou
 s\, and Polish free jazz legend Leszek Żądło. In October 2025\, they re
 leased their debut album 'Jazz Report From The Hood' via Astigmatic Record
