SUMMARY:sophia stel: the greatest tour of all time
LOCATION:Bitterzoet\, Spuistraat 2\, 1012 TS Amsterdam
GEO:52.377395;4.8942
DESCRIPTION:A three-year relationship came to an end and Sophia Stel picked
up her electric guitar once again. The result is the EP ‘How to Win At
Solitaire’\, on which her heartbreak is set to a danceable beat. Her low
\, rich voice lends the electronic pop a sense of lived experience. The Ca
nadian artist and producer learnt the ropes in the basement of the DIY clu
b Paradise in Vancouver. After every club weekend\, she would set up her s
tudio again. You can hear that background in her beats\, whilst her lyrics
have the directness of indie rock. She also keeps control of the music vi
deos herself. Using an old digital camera\, she films the grainy footage f
or tracks such as ‘I’ll Take It’ and ‘You Could Hate Me’.\n\nDet
