SUMMARY:The Academic
LOCATION:Tolhuistuin\, IJpromenade 2\, 1031 KT Amsterdam
GEO:52.383088;4.90303
DESCRIPTION:In the ever-changing music scene\, The Academic have establishe
d themselves as a band to be reckoned with. After their self-released debu
t album ‘Tales From The Backseat’ shot to the top of the charts in 201
8\, the Irish quartet embarked on a worldwide tour across the UK\, Europe
and North America. By 2023\, The Academic had not only maintained their mo
mentum but also reached new heights. Their second album\, ‘Sitting Prett
y’\, marked a musical evolution and earned the band a second number one
album and a global following. The Academic’s commitment to authenticity
and genuine expression remains unwavering. Inspired by bands such as The K
inks\, Talking Heads and The Velvet Underground\, their music wears its he
art on its sleeve. This appeals to fans who have had lyrics tattooed onto
their bodies and use their songs as the soundtrack to their lives. Now the
ir third studio album\, ‘I’m Not Crying\, You Are’\, is in the pipel
 ine\, after which a show in Amsterdam was\, of course\, a must.\n\nDetails
