SUMMARY:Laura Veirs
LOCATION:Paradiso\, Weteringschans 6-8\, 1017 SG Amsterdam

DESCRIPTION:Laura Veirs is an American singer-songwriter from Oregon who co
mbines poetic folk with the raw edges of indie rock. Over a career spannin
g almost thirty years\, she has released fourteen solo albums and collabor
ated with artists such as kd lang\, Neko Case\, Sufjan Stevens and The Dec
emerists. In 2026\, ‘Temple Songs’ will be released - her first album
in four years and the first record she has produced entirely on her own. A
fter a period during which she wasn’t sure whether she would write any m
ore songs\, Veirs built a studio in her back garden. There\, she recorded
the album in three months using two microphones and a laptop. She delibera
tely left small imperfections in the recording\; at times\, you can even h
ear the rain on the roof and birds around the studio. Her voice and nylon-
stringed guitar take centre stage\, complemented by electric guitars\, bas
s and drums. Live\, she performs the new songs with a small line-up\, stay
ing true to the form in which they were created.\n\nDetails en tickets: ht
