SUMMARY:Marika Hackman
LOCATION:Tolhuistuin\, IJpromenade 2\, 1031 KT Amsterdam
GEO:52.383088;4.90303
DESCRIPTION:Marika Hackman had imagined adult life differently. Now that sh
e’s in her thirties\, the hangovers haven’t gone away yet and the next
worry is already looming. The British singer-songwriter writes about grow
ing older and the expectations she once had about it. On ‘33’\, a chil
dren’s choir even has to encourage her to carry on. Hackman wrote and pr
oduced the record herself\, using instruments she has collected over the p
ast twenty years. Her distinctive voice and subtle guitar playing resonate
amidst mandolins and the low tones of a harmonium\, whilst a small jazz d
rum kit keeps the almost entirely acoustic tracks moving.\n\nDetails en ti
