SUMMARY:Sophie Hunger
LOCATION:Zonnehuis\, Zonneplein 30\, 1033 EK Amsterdam
GEO:52.413452;4.891332
DESCRIPTION:Sophie Hunger grew up in Switzerland\, England\, and Germany. I
t is therefore not surprising that the young Swiss artist is fluent in mul
tiple languages and uses this in her music. Her first album\, ‘Sketches
On Sea’\, was released in 2006 and was described by The Guardian as the
best of Laura Marling\, Beth Orton\, and Björk in one folk-rock package.
But since her last album\, ‘Supermoon’\, from 2015\, Hunger has made s
ome significant changes in her life. Having moved to Berlin\, Hunger trade
d her instruments for drum machines and software. She dove into the electr
onic heart of Berlin and\, fueled by her new love\, decided to create an e
ntirely English-language album titled ‘MOLECULES’. Hunger herself desc
ribes it as “minimal electronic folk”. What hasn't changed are her hea
dstrong pop songs: intimate\, with haunting\, subtle accompaniment\, and h
 er penetrating voice\, which is powerful\, melancholic\, surprising\, and
 versatile.\n\nDetails en tickets: https://onlyhere.app/nl/amsterdam/whats-
