DESCRIPTION:'The world is full of magic things\, patiently waiting for our senses to grow sharper' — W.B. Yeats Boxes and Scenarios is a mixed media art exhibition by John Adams. John uses found objects and images which conjure up magical\, often surreal scenes. Work is shown in a variety of forms\, including box assemblages\, collages\, objects and constructed scenes and dioramas on canvas. John’s work shows the use of diverse materials and source material gleaned from a lifetime of books\, theatre\, films and music as well as artefacts found on his travels and at his home base by the Thames estuary. Beaches\, coastlines\, old wooden boats\, pavements and details of buildings have yielded an amazing source material for the works. ‘There is magic in ordinary objects.
