DESCRIPTION:Skills You'll Learn\n\nSpindle turning\, Faceplate turning\n\nAbout the Course\n\nAn in-depth two days of woodturning.\n\nAt the end of this course\, even without any previous experience\, you will get to take home a beautiful assortment of finished hardwood objects.\n\nDay 1\n\nYou will learn the structure and safe use of the lathes with a variety of turning tools. You will practice control by spindle turning with a freestyle exercise followed by a more traditional\, technical object to turn.\n\nDay 2\n\nYou will learn about materials\, how to prepare and mount them\, how to realise your own designs and apply finishes\, and turning hardwood bowls through faceplate turning.\n\nThe weekend affords you time to go at your own pace whilst being introduced to the joys of woodturning. You will be fully inducted into our wood lathes and gain the confidence to take on your own future projects.\n\nAccessibility\n\nPlease note at this time Studio 2 has no step-free access and has three flights of stairs up to the Workshop Room.\n\nDisclaimer\n\nIn using the workshop\, you understand that the use of all tools and machinery belonging to Blackhorse Workshop are at your own risk.\n\nPlease note that refunds and/or changes to ticket date are available up to 1 week before course date. We cannot offer refunds due to Covid or any other absence due to illness.\n\nAdditional information\n\nPlease dress appropriately for metalwork\, no trainers or shorts\, we recommend sturdy shoes/boots and jeans or similar.
