DESCRIPTION:At the heart of NOVO lies the belief that the body is not separate from the universe\, but an expression of it. The Chakras help to map the body and re-connect to its living portals of sensation\, memory\, and motion. Through her signature blend of dance and philosophy\, artist and choreographer Sivan Rubinstein deepens her ongoing inquiry into the body as home: a vessel for creation\, loss and transformation. An extract from Embodied Activism is presented in the bar throughout the show run. The project was originally realised as a three-month exhibition at Aspex Gallery\, Portsmouth\, co-curated by Sivan Rubinstein and Ricardo Reveron Blanco. Pre-show talk There will be a pre-show panel discussion offering insight into Sivan Rubinstein’s research process\, joined by collaborators Dr Sarah Fine and Ricardo Reveron Blanco. The conversation will reflect on practices of creation and collaboration\, and explore the body as a site and tool for research. Babies & Parent/Carer matinee There will be a relaxed morning performance followed by an opportunity to meet the artists and gently move to live music with your baby. Designed for up-to-2 parents/ carers per child (pre-walkers and crawlers). Please ensure that both adult and baby tickets are booked at the same time.
