DESCRIPTION:On Sunday 4th October\, The Friends of Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park will be joining the march and celebration in honour of the 90th anniversary of The Battle of Cable Street. We need you to help! Join us for to make banners for the march with creative facilitator and textile artist F. Zeeshan Choudhury. Following a walk through the Cemetery Park and a brief discussion of its history of radicals in the Cemetery Park\, we will learn how to use woodblock stamps to create beautiful designs on fabric. Then\, using Choudhury's bespoke woodblock stamps we will decorate the banner with diverse plants\, flowers and other features of the Cemetery Park\, celebrating the diversity of both the natural world and our East End communities. A week later\, the banner will be carried across our borough in the 90th anniversary march.
