DESCRIPTION:Blackheath Art Society was founded by Goldsmiths and Camberwell Art School artist tutors in 1947 in a spirit of hope and regeneration after the war. Nearly 80 years later\, the society comprises a well-established group of London-based artists living mainly in the Southeast of London. The Society holds two exhibitions a year and meets for ‘plein air’ sketching throughout the seasons\, among other activities.
