Join us as we celebrate the 30th anniversary of Beautiful Thing, the classic British romantic comedy, as part of Pride Month at Woolwich Works. Released in June 1996, the film is an urban fairytale and celebration of coming-out and coming-of-age and is often considered one of the best LGBTQ films ever made. Filmed in Thamesmead and Greenwich, it features Linda Henry, Glen Berry, Scott Neal, Tameka Empson and Ben Daniels. Directed by Hettie MacDonald, with a screenplay by Jonathan Harvey, the film features a soundtrack of music by The Mamas & the Papas and Mama Cass Elliot.
