About OnlyHere

OnlyHere is a guide to things to do in London, built from the listings that London venues and organisers publish themselves. It covers London and nowhere else, and only things you can go to in person.

What you will find here

Dated events across the city: gigs, theatre, comedy, club nights, pub quizzes, exhibitions, talks, markets and family days out, each with its venue, date and, where the venue gives one, a price. Alongside the events there are directories that do not change day to day: pubs by neighbourhood, London markets with the days they trade, activity bars and the museums that are free to enter. The same listings power the OnlyHere app for iPhone and Android.

Where the listings come from

Listings are collected automatically from the public what’s-on pages of London venues and organisers: pubs, music venues, theatres, galleries, museums, markets and council event calendars. More than a thousand of these sources are registered. For some venues that do not publish a usable calendar of their own, a larger listings or ticketing site fills the gap.

Dates, times, prices, venues and ticket links are copied from the source listing, never rewritten, and listings link through to the venue or organiser for tickets. OnlyHere does not sell tickets. Events are sorted into categories such as live music, comedy or quiz by keyword rules applied to the source’s own title and description, and each venue is placed on the map from its address.

How often it is updated

A collector runs every night. Each source is re-checked on its own schedule, learned from how often its listings change: busy venues are looked at every day, quieter ones less often, and no source goes more than 30 days without a fresh check. Past events drop out of the listings. Because a venue can change or cancel something after our last check, confirm with the venue before you travel, especially for anything booked far ahead.

What AI is used for, and how it is checked

Some of the supporting text on OnlyHere is written with AI assistance: the short summaries on many event listings, the introductions on venue and area pages, and some of the themed guides. AI language models never supply the facts a plan depends on. Dates, times, prices and venues always come from the source listing.

Each model is given only the facts from the listing and is told not to add dates, prices, line-ups or history that are not in them, and to write nothing at all when the facts are too thin. Its output then passes automated checks before it is published: length and formatting rules, and, for guides, a check that the guide is backed by a real event filter and that the site still builds. Most of this text is not read by a person before it appears, so if you spot something wrong, please tell us. The editorial policy sets out the detail and how corrections work.
