A guided tour shows you items that shaped Britain: King George III's personal library, Magna Carta, things you've read about in history but never seen. Having someone who knows these objects walk you through changes how you see them. They tell you things the displays don't.
The tours run about an hour, so you're not trailing around for half a day. Works for curious adults and kids over 11 with a parent. You leave from the Information Desk into the Sir John Ritblat Gallery, where the major stuff lives. It feels like it should be boring but isn't, because the objects are genuinely remarkable and the staff actually know what they're talking about.
