Back by popular demand, this walk around tasting of sherry, vermouth, marsala, madeira, port and more is a highlight in the tasting calendar. Join us on 18 June at our London Bridge store to explore wines which are brilliant, brilliantly priced, and ripe for rediscovery. Often, and cruelly, stereotyped as being for Christmas, cocktails, grandparents and fancy dinners, these are some of the most exciting wines right now, and ones that can be exceptionally adaptable and summery. In the lineup will be 30 wines including zippy fino and bright vermouths. There will be mature Oloroso and ambrosial Pedro Ximenez from Valdespino, Romate and Barbadillo. From the Douro valley we'll be tasting some astounding wines from Kopke and Graham’s and from the island of Madeira we'll being treated to a showcase of the category from Pereira d’Oliveira and Blandy’s. Rounding out the tasting we have some delicious Pineau de Charentes and a selection of our very own fortified wine cask whiskies. These more informal walk-around tastings are a chance to sample a wide range of wines and talk more casually with the people behind them. Guests at this tasting will get a £5 discount on the night on any purchase in store over £15. Doors will open at 7:30pm and last pours will be called at 9:15pm. The store will remain open until 9:30pm to finish a final sample and for our customers to make any purchases.
