Iolanthe works when the music lands and the actors commit to the ridiculousness. This production, directed by Robyndra Allen with emerging professional singer-actors, does both. A fairy queen steps in to dismantle a tangle of class snobbery and thwarted love. The show doesn't wink at the absurdity; it lives fully in it.

The choreography carries real imagination, the songs are jubilant, and the cast stays present. It's the kind of production that reminds you why this show has lasted. Less fussy period piece, more alive.
