Monthly open-mic comedy night hosted by Abbie Murphy ( ☆☆☆☆) with headline act TBC "Probably the cheapest night out in London" (said someone once). Comedy in a bookshop? Why ever not? But who is the headline? Well, as soon as we know we'll let you know. But regardless of headline you'll have up to 10 stand-ups doing 5-10 minute spots for your entertainment. Okay then, so what about the host? Our usual hostess extraordinaire is in Edinburgh (Jess Carrivick: For Your Consideration at the Gilded Balloon) and so for August we have the wonderful Abbie Murphy keeping us in line. The 'Not So New Comedian of the Year 2025' finalist, Abbie made her mark with her award-winning debut show Girl on Fire, which earned ‘Best Act’ at the Camden Solo Festival in 2014. Her follow-up, Have A Word, was a finalist in the Amused Moose Comedy Awards 2015, and she went on to deliver two more sell-out shows: the stand-up hour Eat Sleep Shit Shag and the sketch show Beg Borrow & Bitch, created with comedy partner Ricky Hunt. Her sharp writing and fearless delivery have firmly established her as "one to watch" (The List). "She is nothing short of excellent," raved Deadline News. Doors 7pm. Starts 730pm....
