Mai is stuck in heaven reliving an engagement to a man about to become a monk. Her daughter Tam is trying to understand who her mother really was. The story drifts between past and present, the way memory does, and what's lost in the gaps.

This is a play about the weight of family. Mothers and daughters, and the distance between them. Migration and what stays behind when you move. About trying to love each other before time runs out. It sits with these things without rushing, bringing specificity to people caught in a complicated situation.
