Orii Jam is a weekly open-stage night at Colour Factory in Hackney Wick. The first half is for beginners: you perform with the house band backing, so it's supported rather than solo. The second half opens to experienced musicians and singers.
What matters is the setup. You get a room where different skill levels coexist, where watching someone try their first performance sits next to experienced players doing their thing. That's not how most rooms work. Hackney Wick already attracts creative people; this gives them a real place to play.
