Four actors play 30-odd characters in a musical about the 1518 Dance Plague, with absolutely no regard for actual history. There's a runaway princess, a village in crisis, 12 original songs, and a live band committed to the chaos. The whole thing works because it's small and goes all in: four people doing the kind of energy that Fringe theatre exists for.
Upstairs at the Gatehouse holds maybe 60 people, and this is the sort of show that sells out before you get round to booking. Ninety minutes. Camden Fringe. The daft kind of theatre that only lands when everyone's not trying to be clever.
