Bridewell Theatre is a place for plays that take their time. The programming leans towards ambitious, text-heavy work, the kind that asks you to stay with a long argument and leave your phone in your pocket. You come here for theatre with a point of view, often staged so the words do the heavy lifting. If you like sitting close to a story and letting it land, this is a good room to know. The audience tends to be people who read the programme, arrive with opinions, and are happy to keep talking about the play on the way out. The address is EC4Y 8EQ. The listings below show what is on. Use them to check whether the style suits you, and read a little about a production before you book.
