Earl of Derby runs on a simple idea: good people in a room, and the night takes its own shape. Live music runs through most of what happens here. A Sunday jazz session suits a slow afternoon with a drink. Friday brings live music and DJs, and the room gets busier as the evening goes on. The programme doesn't stop at sound. Negroni nights mix in live music, comedy or DJs, so you won't always know which one you'll get. A pub quiz pulls in people who like to argue over the answers. A book club brings a quieter crowd who came to talk. You'll tend to find regulars and first-timers sharing the same space, and nobody minding who is who.
