The Great Northern Railway Tavern in N8 has a creative streak. A night out can start with a pint and end up as a quiz, a long wine session or an afternoon with the kids, depending on the day. That mix is the point. Weeknights lean social and a bit competitive, with quiz nights that draw regulars who know their stuff. Sunday afternoons bring a relaxed session for children, so it works for a slow lunch with family as much as a late round with friends. Expect a pub first and an arts venue second. The programming is friendly and practical rather than polished. If you like a room with character, where the company counts for as much as the event, this is one to know.
