Greenwich Theatre in SE10 has a main house built for text-led work. Expect classic plays staged with care, where the words carry the evening and the production stays out of their way. It suits people who like to hear a story told properly. The programme also leans seasonal. Big festive family stories tend to turn up towards the end of the year, the kind of production families plan around and grown-ups enjoy just as much. The art category shows in the choices. Familiar stories are treated with respect rather than novelty. The crowd is a mix of people who know the building well and first-timers who came for one production and stayed for the evening.
