O2 Academy Islington leans loud. Expect rock and metal bands, the kind of touring acts that fill a room with noise and bodies. Between the gigs you'll find club nights with a party streak, glitter-heavy themed evenings and Halloween nights that go all in on costume. The crowd usually comes for the band first and the night out second. You'll see plenty of black band tees, and plenty of sequins by midnight. It suits anyone who likes a big, sweaty, sing-along night and doesn't need a dress code. Before you pick, look at the genre. A heavy rock night and a dressed-up party night feel very different from the inside, so decide what kind of evening you want first.
