Queen Elizabeth Hall in SE1 is the kind of venue you visit for a specific reason. Its programme leans toward art and performance, often built around a single artist, so each run has a clear shape. Food is part of the picture too, so an evening here can start at the table and drift somewhere less expected. The crowd tends to come for the work first. Arrive a little curious. Read what the night is built around, and leave time to talk about it afterwards. Go for the thing that sounds slightly odd. That is usually where the venue is at its most itself.
