The Cause is an E16 venue where the music does most of the work. Its programming leans toward club nights: house, techno and disco, with a lot of drum and bass and UK garage running alongside. Some nights go further into R&B, Afro and Latin house and reggaeton, so the genre is the best guide to the room. Expect DJ-led nights built to run long. The crowd tends to be people who came for the sound. They know what they like, and they stay for the whole set. This is a good place to learn a scene by ear. Pick a night by its genre rather than its name, and you'll usually know what you're walking into. The sound is the point here, and the room is set up around it.
