The East Hill: Pub in Wandsworth, London

The East Hill is a food venue in SW18, and its programming says a lot about what to expect. Pie nights and pub quizzes are the kind of evenings built around a proper plate of food and a table of people you half know. That suits a particular crowd. Locals who want a regular night out rather than a one-off. Groups who come for dinner and stay for the quiz. Anyone who likes a room where the food is the reason to come and the company is the reason to stay. If you are picking an event, start with the food-led nights. They give the most honest picture of the place. A quiz works well if you go with a team and enjoy a bit of friendly competition. A pie night suits a quieter, more relaxed visit.
