The Hunter S: Pub in Hackney, London

The Hunter S is a food venue where the music carries as much weight as the menu. Expect soul and groove, with open decks sessions that let regulars and first-timers take a turn at the controls. That mix is the point. The crowd tends to be people who care how a room sounds. Some come for dinner and stay for the second set. Others come for the tunes and eat well while they listen. Sunday is when the room feels most like itself: loose, warm and social. If you want quiet, look elsewhere. If you want good sound and a relaxed table, you'll fit right in.
