The King's Head in N8 runs a mix of nights, and that variety is much of its character. Quiz tends to be a regular fixture. Comedy try-outs give newer acts a room to test material, so the crowd is often as curious as the performers. Weekends lean towards karaoke, where the bar for singing is low and the room joins in. Jazz turns up too, a slower note for people who want to listen rather than shout along. Pick by what you want from the evening. Quiz suits teams who like a bit of rivalry. Try-outs suit anyone who enjoys watching something still taking shape. Karaoke suits people with a song they have been saving. Jazz suits a quieter night out.
