The Pembury Tavern: Pub in Hackney, London

The Pembury Tavern is a food venue in E8, and its programming leans towards the easy, sociable kind of night. Expect quiz nights where teams take the scoring seriously. Expect DJ nights when the room wants to move. Expect board game sessions for people who would rather talk than scroll. Some events are built for families, with a table set aside for kids. The crowd tends to be local. Many people come back to the same night and the same corner of the room. Others arrive for the food, stay for the atmosphere, and end up booking the next one. If you are choosing, start with what you want from the evening. Pick a quiz if you like a bit of friendly competition. Pick music if you want to dance.
