The Surprise

The Surprise is a hidden venue in SW8, the kind of place you find by knowing where to look. Nothing about it announces itself from the street, so the people who turn up tend to have come on purpose. The programming leans towards games nights. Bingo and poker are the sort of formats it hosts, and they tell you a lot about the room. It suits anyone who likes a structured evening with a bit of competition and plenty of chat between rounds. You don't need to be an expert. Bring curiosity and a readiness to lose gracefully. If you like events where the fun comes from the table and the people around it, this is a good place to start.
