Walthamstow School For Girls is an art venue in E17, and it leans towards learning. The programme is built around courses and classes where you come to pick up a skill, not just to watch. Writing about music is one of the things it teaches, which tells you a lot about who comes. You get people who want to get better at something and who like working alongside others who care about the same craft. Go in expecting a working room, not a gallery you drift through. Sessions are for taking part. Bring a notebook, and check what each session asks you to bring before you arrive. For an art venue, that mix of making and talking is the point.
