About
Fado is Portugal's most intimate song form, and Mariza is one of the singers pulling it into the present. Her sound keeps the tradition but sharpens it, so it suits anyone who likes voices that fill a room. Catch her at the Southbank Centre on Sunday 15 November if you want fado sung live by someone who knows the rules well enough to bend them.
