The Academic

In the ever-changing music scene, The Academic have established themselves as a band to be reckoned with. After their self-released debut album ‘Tales From The Backseat’ shot to the top of the charts in 2018, the Irish quartet embarked on a worldwide tour across the UK, Europe and North America. By 2023, The Academic had not only maintained their momentum but also reached new heights. Their second album, ‘Sitting Pretty’, marked a musical evolution and earned the band a second number one album and a global following. The Academic’s commitment to authenticity and genuine expression remains unwavering. Inspired by bands such as The Kinks, Talking Heads and The Velvet Underground, their music wears its heart on its sleeve. This appeals to fans who have had lyrics tattooed onto their bodies and use their songs as the soundtrack to their lives. Now their third studio album, ‘I’m Not Crying, You Are’, is in the pipeline, after which a show in Amsterdam was, of course, a must.
