Amersham Arms: Pub in Deptford, London

Amersham Arms is an art venue in SE14, and it has the feel of a place where ideas get tested out loud. The programming leans towards nights built on opinion and argument, where the format does the work and the audience brings the questions. The crowd tends to be curious rather than polished. People come to listen, push back, and often stay for the conversation afterwards. If you like art that talks back, this is a good place to start. Expect artists, writers and people who simply enjoy a good argument. The energy is loose and friendly, and the best nights tend to be the ones where the format sounds like your kind of debate.
