Barge East

Barge East is a food venue in E20, and the programming sits comfortably alongside the eating. Music is part of the atmosphere here rather than the whole point. The rhythm is what makes it worth knowing. Resident DJs play in the gardens, so the outdoor space has its own mood. Live music has a regular home on Sundays, which suits a crowd happy to settle in with a drink and let the afternoon run. It suits groups who would rather talk than shout over a set. It suits a low-key date. It is less about dancing late and more about finding a good table and staying a while. The kind of place locals come back to rather than tick off a list.
