Blackheath Farmers' Market
Blackheath Farmers' Market turns the station car park into a busy hive of local food shopping every Sunday morning. Run by London Farmers' Markets and trading since September 2000, it brings together farmers, growers and small producers from across the South East selling food grown, reared or made by the people behind the stalls. With around 30 to 35 stalls each week, it has become a fixture of Blackheath village life and was named Best Market in Lewisham at the 2025 Mayor of Lewisham Business Awards. Well behaved dogs are welcome and the market trades rain or shine.
Opening times
The market runs every Sunday from 10am to 2pm. It trades all year round, rain or shine, including Marathon Day, and only closes for the week between Christmas and New Year. Arrive earlier in the morning for the best choice of seasonal produce, as some popular stalls sell out before the close.
What's on the stalls
Expect around 30 to 35 stalls of fresh, seasonal food brought straight from the farm. Producers sell fruit and vegetables, meat, poultry and game, fish such as Norfolk brown shrimp, cheese and dairy, fresh bread and cakes, eggs, honey and preserves, plants and cut flowers. Seasonal specials appear through the year, from Kentish asparagus in spring to cherries in July, alongside hot cooked food to eat on the spot.
Around the market / getting there
The market sets up in the car park right beside Blackheath station, so the nearest station is Blackheath (a short walk away). There is a charge to use the station car park, but free street parking can be found on Tranquil Vale, Bennett Park, Lee Park and Lee Road. Pair a visit with a wander up to Blackheath village and its independent cafes and shops, or a walk across nearby Blackheath and Greenwich Park.
