Fairfield Halls is Croydon's main space for classical music and arts programming. You get regular seasons from the Croydon Symphonic Band, chamber concerts, orchestral work, the kind of programming that doesn't shift around season to season. It's mixed too: alongside the music, family theatre and touring shows mean you get genuine variety in the crowd. Concert devotees one night, families the next. It sits central to the area and works as the main arts anchor for South London. Programming with some weight to it, the kind of venue that knows what it's doing and does it properly.
