Foyles

Charing Cross

Foyles in Charing Cross is where you go to hear people think out loud. Author talks, conversations, usually about ideas, culture, how things work. The space doesn't do spectacle. It's straightforward. You come to listen properly, to have your mind engaged. The crowd is people who read, who actually want to be there, who prefer thinking to entertainment. The event is the conversation itself. That's the draw. There's something unpretentious about it. The programming matters more than the polish. If you're looking for that in central London, this is where you'd find it.
