The Backstage Bar and Cafe at Harrow Arts Centre is not separate from the programming, it's integral to it. You come for the events, which lean toward theatrical and narrative-driven work, and the programming has a particular taste for storytelling, the curious, sometimes the dark. You stay for the bar, or arrive early to settle in with a drink before the event starts. What happens between the acts matters as much as what's on stage. The venue is built around the understanding that conversation and community around the work, the space to sit and talk, is part of the real experience.
