Karamel + Long Lounge is an art venue in N22, and its programme leans towards jazz. Most nights are built around small groups: quartets, trios, and the odd themed evening that gives the music a clear point of view. A room with a steady editorial line tends to draw a regular crowd. These are people who come for the music first and the conversation after. You will often see faces that know the players by name. Expect a room that listens. Small spaces like this reward attention. Sit near the front if you can, arrive before the first note, and let the set take its time. Go once and you will start to recognise the regulars.
