Mayfair Library sits in one of London's wealthiest neighbourhoods, but you'll actually want to go. Programming runs to talks and events, mostly history and ideas: the kind of stuff that draws a crowd who genuinely care about detail. The neighbourhood tells you something. West of Regent Street, all money and galleries and private members' clubs. The library is a proper room with proper speakers, not some glossy event space pretending to be intimate. It's where you come if you want to hear someone who knows their subject talk about it properly. Georgian history, local heritage, that sort of thing. Serious crowd, not stuffy.
