Modern Art

Westminster

If you're after modern art in London, this is a place built around looking closely and looking again. The programming leans toward artists whose work has room to develop. Expect shows that follow a practice across decades, so you can watch an idea change, return and sharpen over time. It suits people who already enjoy contemporary art and want more context. Bring a bit of patience. Read the wall text. Stay with the pieces that don't give up their meaning straight away. Those are usually the ones worth the trip. The crowd tends to be people who come back, not people ticking things off a list. The venue is in SW1A 1RP. Go in with a question and you'll often leave with a better one.
