New Cross Inn: Pub in London

New Cross Inn is a food venue in SE14 that books experimental work. The artists it draws tell you what matters here: electronic projects, conceptual sound work, underground collectives. You get emerging artists doing things that happen beneath the surface of London's creative scene, work that doesn't get mainstream coverage. The crowd is serious, looking for what's next rather than what's already safe. Programming is what matters. Not spectacle or slickness, just the work itself. In South London there are pockets where alternative culture finds its footing. This is one of them. You go if you want to discover something, not to be seen. The place moves fast. That's how it stays alive.
