Southwark Presents sits in SE24 and leans toward art that works with people, not just in front of them. The programme tends to mix touring theatre, contemporary visual art and learning for young people, so the room can feel half studio, half classroom on a given night. Expect a mix of ages. Young people training backstage sit alongside artists and regulars. That mix is the point. It makes the place feel less like a gallery you visit and more like a room where something is being made. Some of the best evenings here are the ones you didn't plan around. The venue often runs practical courses alongside its shows, aimed at local people starting out in theatre and the arts.
