St Peter's Church is a place for art that is made to be heard. The programming leans towards choral and sacred music, and towards work that needs a full room rather than a small one. If you like performances you sit still for, this is a good place to look. The people who come tend to be there for the work itself, not the night out around it. Churches suit singing in a way most venues don't. A choir or an oratorio feels like it belongs in the room, and that is the kind of thing a local would tell you before you book. Not every event will be a big choral night, so read the listing before you go. Expect a mix of the old and the careful.
