Marylebone

The Wallace Collection is an art venue for people who like to look closely. It sits in Marylebone, and it suits anyone who would rather spend time with a room than rush through it. The programming leans toward the stories behind the objects. Expect tours that go beyond the galleries and into the library and archive, where the paperwork, the people and the decisions that shaped the collection come into view. These sessions suit anyone who wants to understand how a collection is built, looked after and passed on, not just what hangs on the wall. The crowd tends to be curious rather than loud. Some visitors come back for a second look at something they only half noticed the first time.
