Walthamstow Library is a place for books with a clear leaning towards children. Most of its programming is aimed at younger readers and the grown-ups who bring them. Expect story sessions, rhyme time, play groups, a children's film club and craft sessions, the kind of activity that treats a library as a room full of people, not just shelves. If you have small children, this is the sort of venue that becomes part of the week. The sessions are simple and social. Children get to be busy and noisy in a room built for it, and parents get a loose, friendly routine to fall into. If you are not bringing kids, the place still suits anyone who loves books.
